Sleep better – choose a better bed!

People sleep for 1/3 of our lives so it’s important to have a comfortable night’s rest.

If you are trying to purchase a new bed then both high street stores and the internet have literally hundreds of makes to choose from but it is the mattress which is important to ensure a comfortable night’s sleep.

There are many different types of mattresses to choose from. These can be air beds, water beds, spring or coil types or the new memory foam versions which change shape to your contour each time you get in bed. This kind of mattress works with your body heat – each time your body makes contact with the mattress it changes shape to fit the shape of your body.

Different people like different mattresses. Some people like harder mattresses and others softer ones. The Divan style bed (with Divan base and mattress) are often softer than the standard bedstead and mattress.

Another important factor is to purchase a bed spacious enough for you. Be sure there is enough room for you both to sleep comfortably. A spacious bed means a better night’s rest.

If you have a bad back then a water bed may be suitable. As water beds create heat they are a muscle relaxant. For many people though water beds are not supportive enough.

Finding the right position to sleep in can also be beneficial to a bad back. Many people say lying on your side with your knees pulled up and maybe a pillow between your knees. can stop your spine from twisting in the night. If you lay on your back then again a pillow or cushion under your knees will relieve the pressure on your lower back. Sleeping on your stomach is the worst way to sleep with a bad back as it causes more strain to your muscles, joints and nerves.

Purchasing a cheap mattress is not always cost effective. You generally need to change your mattress every 8 – 10 years but cheaper mattresses will need to be changed more regularly. Finding the right bed and mattress should see your sleep patterns improve and you will feel better after a good night’s sleep and rejuvenated the next day.

The history of the first neon sign

The first Neon sign was observed in 1912 at the Grand Palais show in Paris. It was brought into existence by George Claude. In 1922, Earle C. He secured two Neon signs from Paris which he wanted to use to advertise for Packard dealership at Wilshire and La Brea in Hollywood. This was the first neon commercial signs in USA.

He filled the glass tubes with Neon gas and litthem. Then glass tubes were bent with the help of a flame. Then electrodes were attached, air was removed by a vacuum and the tube was heated to remove any impurities before Claude pumped in the gas. Like neon gas gives red color; argon gas provides blue color; and any other gas can create any desired color. Many Neon training programs was established because of a sudden increase in the neon industry. This institute was found by Edward Seise in 1930, and continued operations until 1971, when he retired. He taught this process to nearly 85% of all the glass benders in United States. Electricity is imperceptible but provides convenience and comfort to human life.

Neon has a certain type of lighting known as gas discharge lighting. Neon is one of the six noble gases that are found in the atmosphere. Others include argon, helium, krypton, xenon and radon. Neon creates red light, argon with a trace of mercury added creates a blue light; helium creates pale yellow light; krypton generates a white light with a purplish tint, and xenon a white/blue light.

Neon and argon gases are not dangerous as they are inert gases and display great stability and extremely low reaction rates. If there are minute droplets of mercury in some colors they are safe as long as the tube is not broken. Improper handling may harm the environment and health. Because of this reason many neon shops do not repair broken argon-mercury tube.

Ny skylt i Blåsut

Old Queen Juliana / skulle gå under jorden.
